For five years, the Rione Sanità has hosted the artistic festival "Welcome to Rione Sanità," born from the collaboration between the San Gennaro Community Foundation and Alessandro Siani. The 2019 edition was made possible thanks to the contribution of Unipol Sai. "Welcome to Rione Sanità" is a series of cultural events, guided tours, concerts, shows, children's entertainment, and culinary offerings featuring the region's finest. The initiative takes place in the first week of July, coinciding with the ancient Festa del Monacone. It is an opportunity to "reopen" the district to the rest of the city and a chance to "donate" it to the community, strengthening the identity of those who live there every day. The anticipation the event generates among the residents of the district and among those who have long followed the events of the San Gennaro Community Foundation, the presence of those who have participated in the events, and the synergy created over the years encourages us to believe in this project, which has now become an event not to be missed. We want to continue to saturate the neighborhood with culture, art, and music, to give new generations a future with new horizons of meaning and new opportunities for growth. We want to invest in the dreams of young people and, together with them, continue to "In-Ludere," to play against them. Challenging the logic of "Nothing will ever change!" that relegates much of Naples to a battlefield, a constant struggle between the weak and the strong, between "poverty and nobility"—as Totò would have said.
Now in its fifth edition, this year it was decided to give space to exhibitions in historic sites and buildings along the route from Via Sanità to Via dei Vergini. A month of surprises, lost in the alleys of the most evocative neighborhood of the city, leaving us once again surprised by the hidden wonder.
In past editions, over 40.000 guests have attended the events.
On July 3rd (18.30:XNUMX p.m.) Sabrina Ferilli meets the Rione Sanità. She is expected in via Arena della Sanità where she will be welcomed by the association of “Donne guerriere” who will accompany her to the Basilica of S. Maria della Sanità. The neighborhood, the associations, the cooperatives and the inhabitants of the neighborhood will await Sabrina in the Basilica where a meeting moderated by Miryam Cuomo, young leader of the Sanità district, will take place. Sabrina will have the opportunity to tell her story and attend some monologues of the show “Mater” by Sanitàrt. The meeting will continue in the cloister of the Basilica where our guest will be given the opportunity to meet and talk with the women and young people of the neighborhood. It will be a precious opportunity for the entire neighborhood to proudly show the beauty of our land.
