Salerno. A historic center under lockdown for the Episcopal Ordination ceremony of the new Archbishop, Monsignor Andrea Bellandi, scheduled for Saturday in Salerno. The Safety and Security plan developed by the Organizing Committee with the coordination of the Prefecture, Police Headquarters, Fire Department and Municipal Police is impressive and must guarantee the flow of at least 4 faithful, high prelates and representatives of the institutions who will participate in the various phases of Monsignor Bellando's journey towards leading the Diocese of Salerno-Campagna and Acerno.
The three focal points will be Piazza Amendola, the Cathedral and the Temple of Pomona. In the streets there will be, in addition to the men and women of the Police Force (in uniform and plain clothes) also over 100 volunteers from Caritas and Civil Protection. To ensure rescue, five ambulances will be available positioned at strategic points.
The first phase of the ceremony will be concentrated in Piazza Amendola where – at 17 pm – Monsignor Bellandi will meet the civil authorities including the mayors of the municipalities of the diocese and a representation of the Municipality of Florence.
