There is no more news of a young skipper from Salerno, Rocco Acocella, who disappeared in the Atlantic Ocean while making a solo crossing on his boat. The thirty-year-old set sail on a trimaran from Saint Martin, in the French Antilles, on June 17. He was supposed to arrive between June 28 and 29 in the Colombian port of Barranquilla. The Coast Guard, the Italian authorities and the English authorities were alerted, as the boat flies the British flag. The young man is described by his family as very experienced, with high nautical skills.

“Attention. The boy in the photo, Rocco Acocella, left on board this vessel (whose name is TRINAVIS) on June 17 from Saint Martin (Caribbean) headed for the port of Barranquilla (Colombia). Since then, there has been no news of him. Since Saturday, June 29, he has been missing.” This is the beginning of the message that was posted yesterday morning on her Facebook profile by Elisabetta Acocella. Rocco, as solovelanet recalls, sailing on board the trimaran Trinavis, should have arrived in Colombia on June 29, so a few days late if you consider a possible calm, but as specified on Facebook by Maria Cristina Acocella, the alert was launched by his employers because since June 29, there has been no radio contact with the boy. Elisabetta Acocella in the attention message adds that the competent authorities have been alerted and asks the web community to spread the message as much as possible. “If anyone has spotted the vessel or has any news – Elisabetta writes – please contact me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/elisabetta.acocella or at 3494168047 for communications in Italian and 3332510900 for communications in English.”
