The Miur (Ministry of Education, University and Research) has funded two projects that concern the safety of two school buildings: the San Giovanni Bosco Middle School and the “Gino Auriemma” complex on Via Ferrante d'Aragona. Somma Vesuviana is included in the ranking just published by the Ministry. These are two projects, the first funded for 88.848 euros and the second for 46.602 euros, in both cases the entire amount requested was granted.
The Miur, implementing the provisions of Article 42 of Legislative Decree No. 28 of 2018 September 109, converted, with amendments, by Law No. 16 of 2018 November 130, has proceeded to establish a fund to finance the planning of safety interventions by the competent local authorities of school buildings.
“We are very satisfied”, commented Mayor Salvatore Di Sarno, “since we took office we have aimed to obtain funds and contributions from supra-municipal entities to address the critical issues of a Budget increasingly penalized by the lack of transfers from the Government. We know the critical issues of our city well and we have started working to make them, little by little, decrease. We are satisfied with this funding because it concerns a sector that is very close to our hearts: the safety of our children. Safety for which we have worked since day one, especially to guarantee the stability of school buildings and these 135 thousand euros go precisely in this direction”. A planned work, as confirmed by the councilor delegated to School Buildings Giuseppe Di Palma: “The funding granted by the Miur is evidence of the continuous activity of our Administration, as well as the attention paid to the problems existing in the delegation assigned to me. Once again, all the insinuations and accusations made regarding an alleged inactivity in the very delicate sector of school buildings are denied. It should not be overlooked that not only have the 'de quibus' funding been granted, but the persistence of the school complexes of Mercato Vecchio and Pomintella is certain news from a few days ago. These are the results of an activity that exists and bears fruit in terms of the concreteness of the municipal administration with particular regard to the delegation of which I am the assignee”.
