Torre del Greco. A 76-year-old man died this morning on a public beach on the Torre del Greco coast, where he had gone with his wife to try to escape the hot summer days. FA (those are his initials), according to the reconstruction of the police officers who responded to the scene, apparently became ill while in the water. Attempts to provide assistance by bystanders alerted by his wife's screams, and then by those who carried him to the shore by ambulance personnel dispatched to the scene, were unsuccessful. The man never regained consciousness. Law enforcement responded to the scene to carry out the necessary procedures.
