Naples. Yesterday was a day spent touring the Universiade for the mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris: “First stop at the Palavesuvio, where the gymnastics competitions were held. Then I went to the Mostra d'Oltremare pool, to watch the diving and judo competitions. Staying in the area, I went to the Scandone pool, where the swimming competitions are held”. And then again “to the Palabarbuto” for the basketball games. The mayor of Naples then speaks of “facilities that have nothing to envy to the international ones that usually host the Olympics. The result of a great job, done in just a few months, by people who, in addition to their professionalism, put their heart into it. So not only was everything ready for this beautiful event, but it was at the highest levels. I saw great teamwork from all the people involved, volunteers, civil protection, municipal employees and those of the participating organizations, and law enforcement”. De Magistris also emphasizes: "Seeing young people and families, animated by a healthy sporting spirit, filled me with joy. Proof that when you want it, with commitment and passion, things can be done, and very well. I have never doubted it. A beautiful image of our city". The mayor also comments on "Italy's second gold medal at the Naples Universiade in clay pigeon shooting, mixed trap specialty, with the pair of shooters composed of Fiammetta Rossi and the Neapolitan Simone D'Ambrosio who defeated the Chinese pair from Taipei in the final" and concludes: "Congratulations guys".
