Naples has won its first gold medal at the 2019 Universiade. In the Mixed Team Trap final at the 2019 Universiade in Naples, Fiammetta Rossi from Foligno in the province of Perugia and Simone D'Ambrosio from Crispano, both representing the Fiamme Oro, triumphed in a challenging yet thrilling competition, finishing with a score of 42/50. Challenging them for the top step of the podium were two athletes from Chinese Taipei, Wan-Yu Liu and Kun-Pi Yang, who had won gold in the individual events. A battle to the finish saw Simone d'Ambrosio remain extremely focused, only briefly relaxing his tension on the sixth and seventh shots, to finish with a score of 23/25. Fiammetta Rossi, with a total of 19/25, confirmed her strong form. The crowd in the stands supported our athletes from the first to the last clay, with typical and engaging Italian warmth.
