Social Media Users Panic: Whats App and Instagram Not Sending Photos, Audio and Videos

Since around 3:30 PM today, a new problem on the social media platforms WhatsApp and Instagram has been causing panic among millions of users. On both messaging apps, it's impossible to download photos, audio, and videos received, whether privately or in groups. Numerous reports of malfunctions have been reported on the website DownDetector, which monitors apps, websites, and social networks. Many reports have been reported regarding WhatsApp and Instagram; to a lesser extent, Facebook as well, although it appears to be experiencing fewer problems. According to reports on Twitter, the problem affects several countries in Europe and beyond: malfunctions in Italy, but also in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and some South American countries (especially Brazil and Argentina). The causes are not yet clear: no communication has been released so far from Facebook and WhatsApp's social media channels.
