On Friday 5 July 2019, at 10.30:XNUMX am, the conference and press preview of the exhibition Vesuvio quotidiano_Vesuvio universale will be held in Naples, at the Certosa and Museum of San Martino, curated by Anna Imponente, in collaboration, for the historical part, with Rita Pastorelli, organized by the Polo museale della Campania with Scabec (Campania Cultural Heritage Society) with the support of the Amici di Capodimonte Association and the Metamorfosi Association.
Vesuvius will also be the protagonist of the tasting scheduled at the end of the inauguration. All guests will be able to taste the famous Babà Vesuvio "designed" by the architect Fabrizio Mangoni, exclusively for the Antica Pasticceria Giovanni Scaturchio, which for over a hundred years has represented the excellence of Neapolitan artisan pastry making. The tasting will be accompanied by typical products from Campania, offered by Amico Bio and wines from the Di Meo agricultural company.
The exhibition, open to the public from July 6 to September 29, presents around 100 works, from the sixteenth century to today, among the most significant of the museum's collections alongside those from public and private collections: emblematic paintings by Micco Spadaro, Paolo de Matteis, Pierre Jacques Volaire, Antonio Joli, Giuseppe de Nittis and many others, will be compared with works by great twentieth-century artists, such as Alberto Burri, Leoncillo Leonardi, Andy Warhol, Jannis Kounellis, Anselm Kiefer, and contemporary artists such as Bizhan Bassiri, Antonio Biasiucci, Giovanni De Angelis, Stefano Di Stasio, Maurizio Esposito, Sophie Ko, Adele Lotito, Anna Maria Maiolino, Claudio Palmieri, Riccarda Rodinò di Miglione, Roberto Sironi, Caragh Thuring, Oreste Zevola, in addition to the art sound installation by Piero Mottola.
