Starting from tomorrow, August 28th, all hospitalized patients at the Santa Maria della Speranza hospital in Battipaglia will be discharged
The operation will end by September 4, when the Emergency Room will also close. In fact, the Battipaglia hospital will have to empty because it is involved in the evacuation scheduled for September 8, when the bomb disposal experts of the 21st Guastatori Regiment of Caserta will defuse the World War II bomb found last March in Spineta. From September 5 to September 8, the medical and nursing staff will be employed at the Eboli hospital where some of the patients will be sorted. The Battipaglia hospital will remain closed for 4 days.
Not only the hospital is affected by the evacuation: the Police Station, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, Town Hall and Municipal Police will be evacuated. Furthermore, traffic on the A2 Mediterranean Highway and State Road 18 will be interrupted, as well as train traffic on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria line and Battipaglia-Potenza-Metaponto line. Water, electricity, gas and landline and mobile telephone lines will also be suspended.
