Luciano Ligabue has been awarded the 2019 Pierangelo Bertoli Prize. The award will be presented during the final evening on Friday, October 18, at the Teatro Storchi in Modena (Largo Garibaldi, 15). The Pierangelo Bertoli Prize, organized by the Montecristo Cultural Association under the artistic direction of Alberto Bertoli and Riccardo Benini, and in collaboration with Bper Banca, is given to artists who have recorded and released more than fifteen albums over the course of their career. On the same evening, the Pierangelo Bertoli 'Italia d'oro' Prize will be awarded to PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi), an eclectic and exuberant musical group with a distinctive style that combines the expressive power of rock, progressive, and classical music into a single, captivating entity. Over a career spanning nearly 50 years, the band has earned a prominent place on the international scene and continues to be a benchmark. Franz Di Cioccio was recently named one of the 100 music icons who changed our world, according to the English magazine 'Prog UK'.
aphael Gualazzi will receive the Pierangelo Bertoli 'A muso duro' Award, for his ability to approach his artistic path in an intellectually independent way. An internationally renowned artist, his music is born from the fusion of the ragtime technique of the early twentieth century with the lyricism of blues, soul and jazz in its most traditional form, through a very personal style, where tradition coexists with the most innovative influences. The Pierangelo Bertoli 'Per dirti t'amo' Award will go to Enrico Nigiotti, author of successful songs for Laura Pausini, Eros Ramazzotti and Gianna Nannini, and one of the most interesting singer-songwriters on the Italian music scene, who has been able to deal with the theme of Love on a universal level in his lyrics, as in 'Nonno Hollywood', the song presented during the last Sanremo Festival. On the evening of October 18, the New Songwriters Award will also be assigned, which, thanks to the partnership with Siae – Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, will consist of a cash award of €3.000,00 in addition to participation in prestigious collateral events, including television, that will take place in Italy in 2020. Also this year, thanks to Nuovo Imaie, one of the 8 Finalists of the New Songwriters section will be awarded a prize of €15.000,00 aimed at the realization of a tour. In addition, the ACEP/UNEMIA Scholarship, worth €2.000,00, will also be awarded to support the recording and/or training activity of one of the eight finalists. For the first time, thanks to the Patronage of the Emilia Romagna Region, the Emilia Romagna Award will be awarded.
