The fire that hit Mount Saretto has devastated the entire city, forcing its inhabitants to deal with the huge damages reported (90% of the pine forest is destroyed) and the hydrogeological risk that could hit the city again (the memory of the landslide of 1998 is still alive in all the inhabitants of Sarno).
Waking up in the morning and seeing the mountain so sad and dark makes you understand how easy it is to destroy a heritage that our grandparents left us with so much love and sacrifice.

And on September 27th in Sarno in Piazza 5 Maggio the young students of Sarno (the UDS Sarno) have decided to demonstrate all together against this outrage: on Friday therefore there will be the "FRIDAY FOR FUTURE” , the event with the motto “Change the school to change the system “he wants to change the school to change the system, the mentality.
On their page il comment about the demonstration:
"We cannot stand by and watch while our city is being destroyed in total indifference. As always, we take sides and on Friday we will go to the organized squares in Campania. It will be important for everyone to participate to shout out to everyone that these injustices, this incivility is killing us and we are tired of it! We are also trying to organize a city assembly to coordinate all together, think and relaunch an alternative!"

Naples invests in schools: 175 new educators and teachers are hired.

by Gustavo Gentile 22 August 2025 - 18:37 18:37

Naples – A concrete step towards strengthening the city's educational network. The Municipality of Napoli This morning, at the General Directorate, 45 employment contracts were signed for socio-educational officials who will enter service in the Municipality's nursery schools starting from 1 September 2025. To these will be added, starting from the start of the new 2025/2026 school year, 130 fixed-term contracts for teachers of the primary schoolThe decision of the administration led by the mayor Gaetano Manfredi This marks a further step in a process initiated over the past three years, during which over 200 educators and teachers have already been hired on permanent contracts. This investment, the Municipality emphasizes, goes beyond responding to staffing emergencies to build a solid foundation to ensure continuity and quality of educational services. At the same time, Palazzo San Giacomo announced the upcoming publication of a public competition for permanent teachers: a signal that moves toward stabilizing staff and structurally consolidating the sector's workforce. This initiative has a dual purpose: on the one hand, it strengthens the right to education in the early years of life; on the other, it represents a concrete response to the needs of Neapolitan families, often forced to contend with a shortage of nursery school places and a historically fragile service network. In this sense, the administration's decision is not only a personnel policy measure, but a strategic investment for the city's future. "Guaranteeing more educational services, supporting families, and enhancing the quality of municipal schools. "This is the goal of our hiring plan," Mayor Manfredi reiterated in a social media post. "It's an investment in the future of children and the growth of the entire community." The initiative, which follows a trend of strengthening municipal educational services, therefore appears crucial to bridging the gap with other large Italian cities and sending a strong message: Naples is investing in human capital, public schools, and a welfare model capable of ensuring inclusion and equal opportunities from childhood.
