Sunday 29 September, at the Sapri auditorium (17 pm) the auditions for the theatre, philosophy and psychoanalysis laboratory Διώνυσος.
The course will be held every Monday, starting October 7, from 19.30:21.30 pm to 2019:2020 pm for a period from October 20 to May XNUMX, and is aimed at a maximum of XNUMX participants.
Διώνυσος is an existential laboratory, an all-encompassing, powerful, exclusive experience; it is an act through which one “acquires knowledge of something particular”. Nietzsche's dense reflection on tragedy and the motivations that contributed to its birth encourage us to imagine and create an original path through art, which is therefore not an end but a means to uproot clods of an existence piled up in the stigmas of social ordinariness in favor of the purest essence of the participant first and then of the spectator.
Dionysus is certainly the god who acts more than any other in the depths of being, the one who grasps the truths in the depths of every man and imposes them on the conscience of those present: he is the god who shows the nakedness of man, but not without transforming him.
The participants, to aspire to a dimension of power and totalizing involvement, must find themselves in a highly active reflective and emotional arena: the furor cannot but involve on the level of pathos and ethos, aspiring to the revelation of essences. Man is originally pure, but time and contingencies corrupt him: Dionysus, through art, acts to reawaken the purity in which the germ of human beauty resides.
For these reasons there is no reference text, except in the references that literature has traced on the god of debauchery: the text is pure outline. The real dramaturgy of the workshop consists mostly in the music. Musical themes written specifically for the workshop, divided into scenes and sequences that move first from the outside towards the visceral and then from the depths of the recesses towards external and shared expression. The performers, evoked by the work of music, by inclusive sounds, by the atavistic gesture, by the movement of the body, will undertake a path of exploration and knowledge that will lead them towards self-awareness and self-expression. The journey through the most underlying emotions encounters and elaborates the fear of separation that induces one to perceive the condition of precariousness and danger; the most acute and intimate sense of the Dionysian message probably bases its action on the encounter with fear and the reaction that derives from it. It is essential that the participant of the workshop reflects and sees himself in the action that only the art of theater can, with its mechanisms, call to life. Wisdom and power are two key words to sew the telos of the narration: precisely, a putting to life, more than on stage, of the essential prerogatives of individuals.
If the Greeks invented tragedy and popularized it at the height of their civilization, it was certainly not for secondary aesthetic reasons; its power is disruptive, renewing, edifying. Tragedy has the prerogative of deposing and then building, dismantling and rebuilding with new, authentic, sublime vigor.
For these reasons, the laboratory requires a considerable effort from the multiple spheres of the individual: the body and the perception/awareness of the body; the mind and its potential; emotions; creativity and its ability to elaborate images and situations; spirituality through the harmonious listening of the inherent and external essences.
The path aims to explore some human components, such as intuition, concentration, the meaning of the sound of the voice, the communicativeness of the gesture, commitment, sacrifice, will, perception, to improve their potential and to promote a confluence landing towards expressive outcomes through the art and technique of theater, which in such a design is a means, an instrument, and not the aesthetic purpose of the action. This aims to build the Διώνυσος project.

Sapri, the sea invades the seafront again: the northbound carriageway is closed.

by A. Carlino February 17, 2026 - 15:36 15:36

Sapri - The sea's fury continues unabated in the Gulf of Policastro. During the night between Monday and Tuesday, another violent storm surge hit the Sapri coastline, causing severe traffic disruption and requiring immediate intervention by maintenance crews. The waves overtopped the coastal barrier, sweeping a significant amount of debris onto the roadway.

Tullio De Piscopo will turn 80 on February 24, 2026, and he's chosen to celebrate as he always has: live, on stage, with his audience. Thus was born "80 Tullio – The Last Tour… Nun 'o saccio!", a musical journey spanning decades of Italian and international history, combining rhythm, memory, and the sonic freedom that has made De Piscopo an absolute benchmark.

The theater tour, produced by CE Agency and JM Production Booking Agency, will kick off this spring and visit some of Italy's major cities, from Naples to Rome, Milan to Turin, passing through the South, a region that has profoundly shaped his artistic identity. This live return doesn't feel like a farewell, but rather a thoughtful, intense, and emotional celebration.

Sapri - A daring day of thefts and escapes that affected the Gulf of Policastro yesterday afternoon ended with the arrest of a 35-year-old homeless man with multiple criminal convictions, already known to law enforcement. The man took advantage of a moment of inattention to steal a car parked on an adjacent street…
