Not only the 'scandal' for the irregular permits to allow the expansion of the Pineta Grande clinic. In the investigation by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere that led to the seizure of the construction site of the Castel Volturno facility, in which a system of favors with politicians and public officials from Castel Volturno as protagonists also emerged, irregularities in the admissions of patients also emerged.
In particular, in September 2018, the Carabinieri, delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, ascertained the existence of approximately 40 more beds than those authorised in the Pineta Grande clinic, a situation which was subsequently confirmed by documentary acquisitions at the ASL.
From the analysis of the documents, the Prosecutor's Office accuses, it emerged that "Pineta Grande has carried out more hospitalizations under the accreditation regime over the years than in the formally authorized and accredited hospitalization places and that for some years it has made ordinary scheduled hospitalizations appear, as ordered by the emergency room doctor, falsifying the documentation in order to then obtain extra-budget reimbursement on the basis that urgent services cannot be refused".
The Health Office of the Municipality was charged with the irregularities found, but, the Prosecutor's Office reveals, "the competent employee indicated to Pineta Grande the path to follow to find the solution". In fact, even in this Office, starting from 2017, according to the investigators, there would have been hiring of relatives in the field of favors to the clinic.
