Amazon supports the Santobono Pausilipon Hospital Foundation in Naples

Naples, September 30, 2019 – As part of the Amazon Goes Gold initiative to support the fight against childhood cancer, Amazon has made a donation to the Santobono Pausilipon Foundation in Naples.
The mission of the Foundation is to support and assist the Santobono Pediatric Hospital
Pausilipon of Naples, with the aim of improving life in hospital for young patients and their families with particular reference to health problems and those relating to social-health and psycho-pedagogical aspects.
A group of employees from the Amazon sorting warehouse in Arzano (NA) went to the hospital
where he met the association's managers who will use the voucher received as a gift from the company to purchase various products useful to the Pediatric Oncohematology department.
Donations will continue in the coming weeks: distribution centers, sortation centers, sortation warehouses and other Amazon locations in Italy will help support healthcare facilities and associations that help children with cancer and their families.
Every year, more than 300.000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Among non-communicable diseases, cancer is the leading cause of death in childhood worldwide. For this reason, in September, the month dedicated to childhood cancers at a global level, Amazon has launched #AmazonGoesGold,
not only to raise awareness among individuals on this issue, but also to draw attention to the invaluable work carried out by many associations and organizations, to improve the survival rate and find effective treatments to defeat childhood tumors.
As a gesture of solidarity, thousands of Amazon employees have been going to work in their pajamas in recent days, in Italy and throughout Europe, North America, Australia and Japan. Pajamas, in fact, are the 'uniform' that every child wears in their daily battle against cancer.
