"The cup is now full: the health of citizens is put at risk every day. Economy yes, but sustainable. A concrete effort is needed from everyone because otherwise we will be forced to talk about environmental disasters every day". M5S MEP Isabella Adinolfi comments on the fires that have hit several industrial plants in Campania in recent weeks.
"Safety must come first, otherwise we run the increasingly concrete risk of a 'second' Land of Fires and Poisons. The wicked hand of man has already caused too many environmental disasters - adds the MEP - We certainly do not want to block these industrial plants, which play a leading role also in the local economic fabric, but we must ensure that accidents, like those of Battipaglia and Avellino, do not occur, as unfortunately is often happening. And, when I speak of safety, I also refer to the network of controls to be carried out at these plants because it cannot be ruled out a priori that behind all these episodes there is a hidden direction".
Hence, the final appeal of the Five Star MEP: "What we do not respect today puts the future of our children at risk. And it is to them that we have the duty to deliver a planet as healthy as possible. Let's do it today because tomorrow it could already be too late".
