SOMMA VESUVIANA. A wellness tour organized by the Local Health Authority, in collaboration with the Municipality, which is making its facilities available for prevention and more. The event will take place in Somma Vesuviana on Friday, September 20th, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III from 9:30 am to 18 pm. Doctors and staff from the ASL Napoli 3 Sud will be present to perform Pap smears for women (aged 25 to 64), deliver early diagnosis kits for colorectal cancer (men and women aged 50 to 74), and book mammograms (women aged 25 to 64). Spirometry and ultrasound scans will also be performed for the prevention of abdominal aortic aneurysms. The initiative is part of the strategic direction of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud aimed at directly involving citizens, including through the commitment of family doctors, in screening and prevention programs, given the persistently low participation. Veterinarians will also be present in the square with their camper vans for free microchipping, a service available to residents of the ASL Napoli 3 Sud area. Dogs must be accompanied by adults, with valid ID and health card. Information on your four-legged friend's health will also be available.
“Prevention is important,” explains Mayor Salvatore Di Sarno, “it is often the only way to save your life and it often happens that, for economic reasons, people avoid carrying out the necessary checks. Reasons that pushed us, right from the start, to accept the active collaboration of the ASL and organize also in our Somma a stop of the tour that the doctors of the health company are carrying out to protect public health.
