“Thank you all. It was an overwhelming edition, full of emotions with an exceptional cast. But not only that. It was the year of the turning point with many new elements that revolutionized the future path of the Festival which, although it continues to feed on 'memory', is preparing to experience a new season in view of the tenth anniversary next year, in the sign of that cultural renewal necessary for the community to find the right push towards new and important goals”. With these words the mayor of Casamarciano Andrea Manzi greeted the audience of “Scenari Casamarciano”, the theater festival that for ten consecutive days animated the small town of Nolano exalting the beauty of the places that, in the Castle and in the Church of Santa Maria del Plesco, find their main historical expression. Over nine thousand people arrived from every corner of the Campania Region who appreciated the rich program of events with its names: from Luciano Melchionna to Sergio Cammariere, Lunetta Savino and Stefania Rocca. But also the unpublished 'Eduardo al balcone' with the revisitation of the thought of the great Eduardo De Filippo curated by the artistic director Giulio Baffi and the lyric gala, a great novelty this year. The spotlight is on the role of amateur companies with the Hyria theatre group of Casamarciano on stage and the winners of the first edition of the 'Annibale Sersale' award inspired by the Count of Casamarciano who gave life to the commedia dell'arte in these places. And then again high fashion with the Andrea Napolitano Atelier fashion show dedicated to Bizet's Carmen. A Festival that did not disappoint expectations and that, in addition to the events, also combined the promotion of the food and wine excellence of the area with a special refreshment area next to the stage, a destination for guests at the end of each show with the tasting of typical local dishes.
“I am happy and proud of what Casamarciano represents today in the national panorama of theater and culture in general,” adds Mayor Andrea Manzi. “The efforts made in these nine years have created a consolidated tourism system, a new way of doing cultural business that strengthens the bond with this land and increases its value. Thanks to those who believed in this project, to my administrative team, capable and intuitive, to all the people who worked behind the scenes, on production, to the artistic director Giulio Baffi, to the many private sponsors who invested in this extraordinary event, becoming passionate along with us. And finally, a special thanks,” Manzi concludes, “to the public for having given us the right amount of courage.”
