A fire has broken out in the Caserta hills and is threatening several homes. The flames spread around lunchtime between Caserta and Castel Morrone: several residents raised the alarm after seeing the flames ignite a short distance from their homes. Firefighters are responding to the scene of the fire. Unfortunately, the warm temperatures and lack of rain are making this first part of September still very difficult for firefighters, and they are having to work extra hard.
The fire along the Panoramica has pushed the management of the Royal Palace of Caserta to evacuate the park. The black smoke has in fact reached the park of the Vanvitellian palace and, to avoid any danger, it was decided to have all the tourists leave. Some visitors have in fact complained that ash was arriving inside the park. A helicopter is flying over the area to try to put out the flames that are still alive.
