A 55-year-old Neapolitan man, with a criminal record and a previous residency order in the municipality of Naples for attempted aggravated fraud, impersonation, and possession of false identification documents, was arrested again by Carabinieri officers from the Parioli station in Rome. The man was recognized by officers as he entered a bank on Via Bruno Buozzi. The Carabinieri then followed him and detained him while he was awaiting the outcome of a wire transfer to several individuals from a bank account held by a company wholly owned by the municipality of Naples. The transaction amounted to €220.000. To initiate the transaction, the 55-year-old had presented a false identification document, issued to the legal representative of the Neapolitan company, and another administrative document justifying the large bank transaction, which was also found to be false. Investigations also revealed that the man had already carried out six similar banking transactions last August, totaling €542.000, all at the same branch. He was arrested and taken to the police station where he will be held pending a summary hearing.
