Salerno. The State Police officers of the General Prevention Office - Flying Squad arrested in flagrante delicto yesterday afternoon, September 13, a man responsible for theft inside a home in the Pastena neighborhood. A Flying Squad patrol, during the territory control service, noticed, in via Guido Vestuti, two male individuals, walking at a fast pace; the officers' attention was drawn to the fact that one of them was wearing black work gloves. The officers promptly blocked the service car in order to proceed to check them. The two, at the sight of the Police, took to flight. The officers immediately started chasing but one of the two managed to disappear into the adjacent streets, while the other hid among the bushes of the vegetation near some semi-abandoned premises. After a few minutes, the man was surprised by the police while, thinking he was not being seen, he tried to move away again from his improvised hiding place. The immediate investigations carried out on site allowed to ascertain that the two had been responsible for a theft in an apartment, located on the third floor of a building facing the street where the subjects had been noticed by the Police patrol. The officers managed to recover the entire stolen goods, consisting of some gold objects, which the criminals had hidden in the vegetation, and seized a black backpack in which objects suitable for burglary and specific tools for opening armored doors were found. The arrested man, identified as EF, 41 years old, originally from Naples, with several criminal convictions for specific crimes, was held in the offices of the Police Headquarters at the disposal of the Judicial Authority pending the celebration of the direct trial. The search for the other accomplice is underway.
