Tomorrow in Rome's Piazza Montecitorio, there will be a large demonstration by the two professional associations of security guards: Agpg and Agri. The two long-time leaders of the security guard trade associations, Giuseppe Alviti (Agpg) and Massimo Raffi (Agri), commented on a matter and demonstration deliberately organized primarily by Agri: "The private security service is influenced by the autonomous and improvised vision of figures within the client, industrial entities, large commercial enterprises, including large-scale retail trade, and public clients, who manage organizational decisions, reserved for the autonomy of the security institute. The service offering is influenced by a completely external vision, alien to the prevention capacity typical of private security. Security operators – especially those appointed and entrusted with a public service – receive a false interpretation of their role, with exaltation or inhibition of natural professional roles, being ordered to perform services that are not due or demeaning with respect to the social purpose for which they were appointed. The lack of oversight by public authorities probably arises from the choice to exclude security services from the legislative protection of Legislative Decree 8 April 2003, No. 66, which means that labor inspectorates no longer recognize the relevant law but the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL). As we've already noted, this not only worsens working conditions compared to the past, but also fails to address the dynamics required by industry regulations, revealing, among the interests at stake, a corporate supremacy over the new prerogatives demanded by the market. Even public authorities, such as the Prefect and the Police Commissioner, responsible for monitoring and enforcing industry regulations, generally fail to address the issue. Our association, AGRI, with the support of President Giuseppe Alviti's Agpg and the overwhelming support of all Italian private security professionals, has decided to launch an information and social denunciation campaign targeting all those professionals, social workers, institutional workers, and politicians responsible for the current state of Italian private security and its failure to revitalize. We will continue our work, citing companies, entrepreneurs, and potential collusion with those in power, with the aim of initiating social cleansing processes that cannot be prosecuted through normal channels in Italy. from the inaction we've received following the countless complaints and complaints filed with the authorities, from our association and from all those trade unions that believe in the unity and unifying power of the sector. On Day 17, let's put an end to this degradation and begin to write the future."
