One hundred and fifty squares, 300 volunteers, including those from Caserta, and 6 bottles of Barbera d'Asti DOCG wine to raise funds for the care of over 15 people with ALS in Italy: these are the numbers for National ALS Day, promoted by the Italian Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (AISLA) for Sunday, September 15.
The initiative is called “A contribution paid with taste”: with an offer of 10 euros it will be possible to receive one of the bottles of Barbera d'Asti DOCG wine.
Caserta is also organizing its gazebo in Largo San Sebastiano, which from 8,30:20,30 to XNUMX:XNUMX on Sunday will be manned by AISLA Caserta volunteers.
Furthermore, thanks to the patronage of the National Association of Italian Municipalities, on the night between Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, dozens of Italian monuments will be lit up in green light, the color of AISLA as well as of hope. In Caserta, the Royal Palace, a World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO, will be colored green, with the Municipality giving its contribution to this solidarity initiative.
"We want to shed light on ALS, take to the streets and squares to make it known, seek the support of the people and - say the promoters of the initiative in Caserta, with Lucio Matano - help the people who are affected by it. Thanks to the National Day we have been able to support many Italian families over the years and scientific research on this pathology, which represents the first hope to win the greatest challenge: the discovery of a cure".
National ALS Day has received the High Patronage of the Presidency of the Republic and is supported by the Lega Serie A, which has scheduled the teams to take to the field with the AISLA banner for the third day of the football championship on 14, 15 and 16 September.
