The dismembered body of 44-year-old Neapolitan Vittorio Baruffo, who disappeared on July 9th, was found last Sunday by a hunter in Isère, a French department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The body was wrapped in cellophane and left in a wooded area in Charette, about 30 km from Bourgoin-Jallieu. The autopsy revealed "cranial injuries" caused by a "blunt object," explained Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant, adding that "further analyses will be carried out to uncover more about the circumstances and cause of death." The preferred investigative lead, according to the newspaper Dauphine Libere, is that leading to the Camorra. According to the Dauphine website, the man is Vittorio Barruffo, 44. The website features a photo of him wearing a pendant later found in a plastic bag next to his body. His identification was made through DNA testing. The man had disappeared from Montalieu-Vercieu. Vittorio Barruffo lived with his partner in that town. Last June, the woman had decided to return to Italy to be with her family, and the 44-year-old was supposed to follow her a few days later. His case was also covered by the Rai program "Chi l'ha visto." He hasn't been heard from since July 9th and hasn't answered his cell phone.
