Ercolano, via Castelluccio, has been burning since this afternoon, with bales of textiles in a landfill near a village on the border between Ercolano and San Sebastiano al Vesuvio. The cloud is clearly visible from neighboring towns, and the stench of burning is strong even in nearby San Giorgio a Cremano and Portici. Firefighters are working to put out the massive blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
