Two “bare stages”, two fascinating and versatile theatrical scenes, the Maschio Angioino and the Cloister of San Domenico Maggiore in Naples, will be the natural backdrop to the first edition of the ZuNAPOLI festival, organized and directed by InBilico Teatro & Film, with the patronage of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Naples, as part of Estate a Napoli 2019.
Four days of theatre, music, cinema and meetings in the shadow of two suggestive locations, four titles and a single common thread, the thousand faces of the city of Naples, which, from Saturday 21 to Wednesday 25 September 2019, will give the public, through the strong political temperament, artistic contaminations and civil commitment, all the suggestions and contradictions that distinguish the Neapolitan capital.
InBilico Teatro, a theatre research company, was founded in 2009 by Ramona Tripodi and Andrea Canova, with the creation of original stage installations that immediately attracted strong attention, characterising its artistic identity.
The need to create contaminations with different arts becomes the trait that best highlights the research and experimental character of the Inbilicoteatro company, which, the following year, gives life to Inbilicofilm, an independent film label, born from Officina Rabbiz with its first short film with a theatrical feel, thus becoming InBilico Teatro & Film.
“The idea of organizing the ZùNAPOLI festival – explain the two founders – came to us on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of InBilico Teatro & Film, which falls this year, creating what, for us, is a small celebration, an important first milestone. Many beautiful things have happened in these years, and what we remember with most joy are the fruitful collaborations with the many artists of the scene, who have accompanied us on this journey and continue, even today, to be part of our project, including Guido Lombardi, Cesare Accetta, Nino Bruno, Marco Messina (99 Posse)”. The festival's programming will open on Saturday 21 September at 21.00:XNUMX pm at the Maschio Angioino with I Guardiani by Maurizio de Giovanni, with Maurizio de Giovanni (voice), the actors Fulvio Sacco, Raffaele Parisi, Ramona Tripodi, Adriana D'Agostino Valeria Frallicciardi, Valentina Spagna, adapted and directed by Ramona Tripodi. In video and voice will be Raffaele Ausiello, Luciano Roffi, Letizia Vicidomini, the original music and live soundtrack are by Marco Messina. There are only three places: Here, Below and Above. Naples is not a city like any other. Naples is not even a single city, because, beneath the one we know, there is an underground one, hidden from the eyes of the world, with darkness instead of light. Marco Di Giacomo had intuited this once, when he was a brilliant anthropologist, and had a unique talent for identifying invisible connections between things. Then, something went wrong, at just forty years old, he is nothing more than an angry and introverted university professor, with only one friend, his awkward but very useful assistant Brazo Moscati. Together with Ingrid, a German journalist who came to Italy to write a sensational piece on the symbolic places of esotericism, and her niece Lisi, a researcher even more brilliant than her uncle but with a worrying passion for conspiracy theories, they will come across something terrible that emerges in the darkness of the Neapolitan tunnels: corpses, strange signals that lead to a past that never emerged. A truth that, perhaps, we have always had in front of us and never wanted to see. From Monday 23 September at 20.00:20 pm the festival will move to the Chiostro di San Domenico Maggiore, to host the screening, in absolute preview, of the documentary Il Corridoio della Farfalle (2018'), winner of the Cineperiferie XNUMX/Mibac call and produced by InBilico Teatro & Film, preceded by a meeting with the authors, Andrea Canova and Claudia Brignone, and the protagonist, Aldo Bifulco. At 21.00:XNUMX pm the concert-show Promenade a Sud, with Marianita Carfora and Matteo Mauriello, which will recreate the sounds and magical atmospheres that have characterized the musical panorama of Southern Italy throughout the centuries. The choice of instruments such as the guitar and the mandolin will give the audience traditional sounds and melodies that are timeless, immortal and deeply engraved in our memories and in our deepest “being”. On Tuesday 24 September the stage will be for 'A Rota with Marianita Carfora and Ramona Tripodi, based on text and directed by Ramona Tripodi, produced by InBilico Teatro & Film, with the support of L'Asilo. The story of 'A Rota is set in Naples in June 1946. The city and its population bear the wounds of war and, among the rubble, they await the outcome of the "referendum", the institutional consultation with which Italians were called to choose between the monarchy and the Republic. Meanwhile, life continues to flourish, even where it is not wanted, where it is not expected. In the Forcella district, near the Basilica dell'Annunziata, the Ruota degli Esposti continues to turn, the device used to anonymously collect newborns abandoned due to poverty or illegitimacy. The wheel is still in operation today, even though it has been officially closed since 1875. The show will be preceded by the meeting “From the foundling wheel to the present day. Cases of happy adoption. Comparing Experiences – Educational Debate”, organized by Ami Napoli (Italian Matrimonialists Association) from an idea of the lawyer Valentina De Giovanni, President of Ami Napoli. Closing the ZuNAPOLI program, on Wednesday 25 September in an absolute preview, will be 'Merica – Sacco e Vanzetti, adapted and directed by Ramona Tripodi, also on stage with Anna Carla Broegg, live soundtracks by Marco Messina and Sacha Ricci, produced by InBilico Teatro & Film. 'Merica is a performative event in which theatre and live sound come together to tell a story that comes from afar, but, today more than ever, is current. The story of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Two men, two foreigners, two Italian emigrants, like many others, two anarchists who were condemned to death under obscure, or in any case specious, circumstances. There were many doubts about their guilt even at the time of their trial. They remain there, helpless between pleas, letters and fights of anger and love: two women, Luisa Vanzetti, Bartolomeo's sister and Rose Sacco, Nicola's wife. Sacco and Vanzetti paid for their anarchist, idealist and pacifist ideas, and for being part of a despised and opposed ethnic minority like the Italian one. Only for the show I Guardiani at Maschio Angioino, the ticket, costing 15 euros, can be purchased by connecting to the website www.inbilicoteatroefilm.com/news or on www.go2.it/evento/i_guardiani_-_maurizio_de_giovanni/4133, by 16.00:XNUMX pm on the same day.
