The Conte II Government received two fewer votes in the Senate on the vote of confidence than the first executive led by Giuseppe Conte and supported by M14s and Lega 5 months ago. Today the Government in Palazzo Madama obtained 169 votes in favor of confidence. A year ago, the first Conte Government obtained 171 yes votes. M5s, Pd and Leu voted in favor of confidence. Outside the perimeter of the government majority, three senators for life (Monti, Cattaneo and Segre), two senators from Maie, some former M5s senators now registered with the Mixed Group, some senators from the Autonomie group voted in favor of confidence (others abstained). The Pd Matteo Richetti and the pentastellato Gianluigi Paragone abstained in dissent from their respective groups. Lega, FdI, Forza Italia voted against.
