Sorrento. Colorful, numerous, and festive participants attended the Sorrento Gay Pride parade, organized by the collective "Buonvento tra le costiere" (Amalfitana and Sorrentina) and "Pride-Vesuvio Rainbow." Many young people attended the event, as well as a group of dancers dressed all in black, from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Spain, and France, who performed behind Piazza Lauro, where all the participants gathered. Politicians included Monica Cirinnà, Elena Coccia, representing Naples Mayor De Magistris, and several councilors from the municipalities of Meta and Vico Equense. It was a demonstration of pride for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual, intersex, and queer people. But that's not all: with Sorrento Pride, the organizers intended to celebrate the freedom of expression and determination of every individual. Hence the slogan #MagnateOLimone. "A gay pride parade without Minister Salvini seems like a good reason to celebrate. Expectations for this new government regarding the rights of all and of the family are extremely high. And I hope my party is up to the challenge. Pride means pride. And I ask the movement to always be at the forefront of equality and equal dignity. When Article 3 of the Constitution is fully implemented, we will have won," Cirinnà emphasizes. "#MagnateOLimone ("Eat the lemon")," explain the parade organizers, "is an ironic Neapolitan expression used to tell someone to accept reality, even if it seems uncomfortable.
