The overall objective of the “Music Moves Europe” call is to identify and support at least 10 innovative and sustainable pilot training programmes for young musicians and music professionals with a European dimension.
The lessons learned from these pilot training proposals should improve the sector's capacity and contribute to its professionalisation. These results should feed into an integrated strategy to support music for the next generation of EU funding programmes after 2020, which should foster European diversity and talent, the competitiveness of the sector and greater access for citizens to music in all its diversity.
The results of these actions will help prepare the future support scheme specifically dedicated to the music sector that will be introduced in the new Creative Europe programme running for the period 2021-2027.
Proposed projects should pursue at least two of the following specific objectives:
respond to professional development needs to acquire individual and organisational skills, in order to increase the capacity of young artists and music professionals to succeed in the music market; help young artists and other music professionals to better understand the music industry value chain; promote transnational exchanges or approaches to ensure knowledge transfer, including in terms of relevance for European/international careers or European cross-border music initiatives; promote sustainable cooperation and networking. Training activities may take the following forms:
training programs using face-to-face teaching and/or e-learning methods, including seminars or workshops; mentoring and peer-learning programs;
paid internship programmes. Training programmes must have a European dimension, i.e. involve participants/trainees or teachers/tutors from at least two different countries or take place in at least two different countries or encourage European mobility.
Beneficiaries can be education/training providers demonstrating relevant expertise in the music sector or partnerships in the training/education/music sector. These entities can be profit and non-profit organisations, national, regional or local public authorities, universities, SMEs. They must be based in one of the countries eligible for the Culture sub-programme of Creative Europe, namely: EU Member States and non-EU countries indicated in the programme. The EU contribution may cover up to 80% of the total eligible costs of the project for a maximum of EUR 90.000.
Projects can be submitted by a single applicant or by a consortium of at least two entities. Projects must have a maximum duration of 15 months starting no later than 1 June 2020. Any other useful information can be found on the dedicated page. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 October 2019, at 12:XNUMX (Brussels time).
