Gabriel Natale Hjorth, the young American accused of complicity in murder together with Finningan Lee Elder of the vice-brigadier Mario Cerciello Rega, killed in Rome on July 26th.
Natale therefore remains in prison. "This decision," explains lawyer Francesco Petrelli, "is because the Prosecutor's Office filed new documents just before the hearing, and our client learned of them on television. The Prosecutor's Office also informed us that the investigation is still ongoing, and we need time to analyze the documents with our consultants." The defense also points to the preliminary results of the RIS investigation, which identified Natale's fingerprints on the ceiling panel of the hotel room where he was staying with Elder and where the knife used to stab the Carabiniere was hidden.
