Giugliano, migrant demands protection money, sets fire to his land and then tries to attack him with a machete: arrested

Giugliano. Yesterday afternoon, the police officers of the Giugliano-Villaricca Police Station intervened at an agricultural land in the Santa Maria a Cubito area following a report of a fire.
The officers approached the owner of the land, while the firefighters were putting out the flames, when a non-EU citizen, brandishing a machete over 30 cm long, lunged at the owner of the land, attempting to hit him on the head.
With difficulty the officers blocked and disarmed the attacker, confiscating his weapon.
The officers found that, in the previous days, the attacker had already made extortionate demands against the victim.
The man, a 38-year-old illegal Algerian, was arrested for attempted murder, extortion, resisting a public official and damage.
