The incident occurred last night. According to initial reports, a large group of people "stole, vandalized, and further destroyed everything. Including some equipment from the construction site used to secure the landfill," the mayor said bitterly. Last night's theft is the third such theft in just a few weeks. "I have the precise and firm belief that what is happening at Masseria del Pozzo has specific implications. That it is a challenge to the State, an act of force," the mayor added, urging a firm response. The Carabinieri are investigating.
