September 15th in Melizzano, Benevento: a historic date for the equestrian discipline of Endurance in Campania, which has not seen such numbers since 2009. In the immense greenery of the estate of Duke Vincenzo Caracciolo D'Aquara, 60 pairs from 7 different regions set foot on the starting line. The regional championship final, the interregional championship final and the qualifying stage for the young horses 4-5-6 year old project promoted by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies took place on a 27 km course in the municipality of Melizzano, along the banks of the Calore river, with the possibility of observing the herons that usually nest there up close. Despite the very hot day for the period, the riders led their companions excellently in the 7 different categories, 3 of which were reserved for horses born and raised in Italy. Ever-increasing numbers and this 2019 sees the competitive season close with great successes due to the strong team work led by the Campania Regional President of the Equestrian Sports Federation Dr. Vincenzo Montrone. Now we await the event of the year: the regions cup.
