Marco Bellocchio's "The Traitor" is in the running for an Oscar. This decision was made by the Selection Committee for Italian films nominated for the Oscars, established by ANICA last June on behalf of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The committee, assembled before a notary, is composed of Roberto Andò, Laura Bispuri, Stefano Della Casa, Daniel Frigo, Gianni Quaranta, Mario Turetta, Alessandro Usai, Anne-Sophie Vanhollebeke, and Alessandra Vitali. Marco Bellocchio's "The Traitor" will therefore represent Italy at the 92nd Academy Awards in the "International Feature Film Award" category. The nominations were announced today.
