Ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Giugliano Sports Hall. On Saturday, September 28th, at 7:00 PM, the state-of-the-art sports facility in the Casacelle neighborhood will finally open its doors to the city. To mark the occasion, an evening event will feature performances by many celebrities who have already chosen the sports hall to teach their sports. Among them is the renowned Maddaloni family, whose father Gianni and his son Pino, a former Olympic champion, will teach judo and, with their partners, all martial arts classes at the Giugliano Sports Hall.

Since Monday 2nd September the facility managed by Polisportiva Giugliano is already active with numerous open days that have attracted many favorable registrations.

"We started with Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Pilates and Martial Arts courses - underlines Marco Ciccarelli, president of the Polisportiva - but our goal is to make the Palazzetto a place of aggregation and events. We have already established contacts with numerous federations that will bring their regional and national championships here, and we are preparing a program of concerts and shows absolutely worthy of note".

Satisfaction also from the mayor of Giugliano, Antonio Poziello who declared: “Finally we are able to open a structure that was very complicated to complete. We had inherited a work that had been started but partially and badly completed, with a series of administrative problems related to the bankruptcy of the company; moreover, it had been vandalized several times. It was necessary to implement a major administrative work and it was necessary to provide for the construction of other works in addition to those preliminarily planned. To complete it was like 'Penelope's web' but finally also the Palazzetto will become a lived-in structure, full of young people, less young people and sportsmen in general. Another piece, therefore, that is added to that sports citadel that is changing and will change the appearance and face of the Casacelle neighborhood, waiting to close the circle with the completion of the De Cristofaro stadium”.

The following will speak at the inauguration:

• Dr. Antonio Poziello (Mayor of the City of Giugliano)
• Mons. Angelo Spinillo (Bishop of the Diocese of Aversa)
• Sergio Roncelli (President of CONI Campania)

The following will participate in the event:

• Wushu Kung-fu School affiliated with FIWuK M. Maurizio Di Benedetto
• ASD Universal Center Naples (Karate)
• Taekwondo Team Athletes Party
• “Rotellare” sports club (figure skating)
