A fire broke out last night in the industrial area of Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno, in a company that transforms tires into bitumen. The flames caused a large cloud of black and acrid smoke. Dioxin invaded the entire city and surrounding municipalities.
The nature of the fire remains to be discovered and given the current emergency situation, no hypothesis is excluded. On site the firefighters with numerous teams who are working to try to put out the fire, which unfortunately is proving to be more serious than expected, and the police to establish the causes.
