The impromptu painting exhibition dedicated to "Wine and Vesuvius" will officially inaugurate the twentieth edition of the "Festival of Vesuvian Wine, Knowledge and Flavours" scheduled in Boscoreale on October 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13, 2019.
The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday 6 October 2019 starting at 10.00 in Piazza Pace (which, for the occasion, will be renamed Piazza del Sapere) where the traditional painting competition will be held, open to all for free, which marks, in fact, the start of the event.
“As usual, this year's festival will kick off on the Sunday before the weekend dedicated to flavors,” explains Angelo Cesarano, president of the Il Nuovo Vesuvio Cultural Association, which has been organizing the traditional autumn event for several years. On October 6, in Piazza Pace, we will give space to art and knowledge with the traditional extemporaneous painting. Anyone who wants to participate can register, free of charge, by sending an email to associazioneilnuovovesuvio@gmail.com by September 30. We have provided a cash prize for the top three, while the winning painting will become the poster for the 2020 edition. The theme chosen for this 2019 edition will be “Wine and Vesuvius.” The complete rules can be found on the Association's Facebook page. Not just art on the first Sunday of October: “Piazza Pace will become an authentic Piazza del Sapere – continues Angelo Cesarano. For the occasion, in addition to being able to participate or assist in the creation of the paintings, it will be possible to visit for free some photographic and historical exhibitions, created in collaboration with other local associations and dedicated to the town of Boscoreale, Vesuvius and the many archaeological finds discovered in the area. In addition, we have planned a special #InvasioneDigitale through the streets of the historic center together with Professor Lucia Oliva, to discover stories, curiosities and anecdotes that have characterized the recent past of our town. In short, it will be an authentic morning to discover Boscoreale”.
The party will continue on the evening of Sunday, October 6 when "on the stage, also set up in Piazza Pace, starting at 19.30:XNUMX pm, the dance troupe of the Elena Spiezia International Dance Center will perform, a welcome return and our authentic lucky charm" - continues the president of the Il Nuovo Vesuvio Association.
The “Festa del Vino, dei Saperi e dei Sapori Vesuviani” will continue from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 October with “theatrical and musical performances, tastings, the Bosco stage of the initiative Vesevus De Gustibus, organized by the Metropolitan City with the presence of students from the musical and hotel high schools of the province of Naples. On the evenings of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October, instead, an authentic taste trail will accompany visitors in the historic center with the presence of seven Vesuvian wineries and as many chefs. For the grand finale on Sunday, a beautiful show that will combine comedy and cuisine with a special guest.
