The Muses, deities of the Greek religion, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, their guide was Apollo. The Muses held great importance in Greek religion: they represented the supreme ideal of art, and art in its highest expression was represented in the journey undertaken in Roccagloriosa with the "Walk of the Muses," the event that accompanied the late summer evenings of the Cilento town from August 28th to September 15th. A packed schedule of events began on the third day of the month in September in Piazzale Borgo Sant'Antonio. Felice D'Amico, the world's craziest violinist, accompanied by the sweet voice of Alfina Scorza, entertained the audience in a lively and entertaining performance, with the spectators becoming protagonists in some moments of the show. On September 4th, it was the turn of the Trio Malinconico, featuring Diego De Silva (writer), Stefano Giuliano (saxophone), and Aldo Vigorito (double bass), who performed in Piazza San Nicola di Bari in Rocchetta, in an original show alternating between musical and narrative moments. On September 5th, in Piazza Europa, the "Pas de Chat" Professional Dance Center, directed by Rossella Iannone, performed "Note di danza," while on September 7th, in Piazza Potentissima in Aquavena di Roccagloriosa, Marco Cabaretti (a cabaret artist) and the Beta Folk Ethnic Orchestra performed. On September 10th, again in Acquavena, in the enchanting setting of Borgo San Martino, the Oscar Movies Ensemble, a string quartet, guitar, and vocals, gave a captivating show, captivating the audience with the music of some of the most famous Italian film songs. The last show of the event was on September 15th: Meridian Akoustik, a trio composed of Marco Castaldo (vocals), Giovanni Rago (guitar), and Mario Perazzo (piano, guitar). They performed in Roccagloriosa's Piazza del Popolo, a delightful evening featuring some of Italy's most beautiful songs, by renowned artists such as Dalla, Battisti, and many others.
The last event of the “Ispani Jazz e il Cammino delle Muse” event is scheduled for September 21st in Casaletto Spartano with the sixth edition of “'A Zita”, an event that aims to revive and remember the ancient rites that characterized “'u spusalizio”, linked to the peasant civilization of a bygone era. It starts with the engagement and, passing through the various phases, arrives at the wedding banquet that once was held in the home of one of the two spouses. Today it represents the heart of the event that takes place in Piazza Municipio, the cornerstone of the historic center, nestled between the centuries-old Palaces and dominated by the church of San Nicola di Bari. The wedding banquet includes ham, cheese and wine, as per the Casaletto wedding tradition.
The project is an INTERVENTION CO-FINANCED BY POC CAMPANIA 2014-2020 “URBAN REGENERATION POLICIES FOR TOURISM AND CULTURE” ACTION 4- PROMOTIONAL INITIATIVES IN THE REGIONAL TERRITORY, takes place between the Municipalities of Roccagloriosa, the lead Municipality, the Acquavena hamlet, Ispani and Casaletto Spartano.
