The Finance Police seizes a load of 4 litres of contraband diesel in Bacoli

The Provincial Command of Naples, as part of the constant activity carried out by the Corps to combat illicit phenomena in the sector of energy products subject to excise duty, has seized over 4.000 liters of diesel fuel for motor vehicles, held in contraband at a plant located in Bacoli.
In particular, the financial police of the Baia branch, during an inspection at a roadside distributor, identified a van positioned above a hatch of the distribution plant's tank and, suspicious of the anomalous situation, proceeded to a more thorough inspection, finding that the vehicle had been completely modified. In fact, a metal tank intended to contain contraband petroleum product had been welded inside it and an opening had been created on the floor necessary for emptying the load.
At the end of the check, the Guardia di Finanza, in addition to seizing the product and the vehicle used, placed seals on the distribution pumps, for subsequent checks on any tampering, such as, for example, the alteration of the "litre counter" to compensate for the diesel loaded "under the table". The driver of the vehicle, RA born in 1971, is now under house arrest, awaiting the summary trial, while the manager of the plant, TA born in 1981, was reported at large. The placing on the market of contraband diesel would have led to the marketing of a product of dubious quality with consequent damages for honest entrepreneurs and risks for unaware end consumers.
