Yesterday, precisely as part of one of the periodic checks ordered by the Prosecutor RICCI at the factories in the municipality of Ogliastro Cilento, the Coast Guard military personnel, under the command of Commander Giulio CIMMINO, together with the technical staff of ARPAC of Salerno, seized and sealed an industrial plant used for the distillation of chemical diluents used in manufacturing processes. In particular, the investigative team ascertained the deliberate release into the air of pungent and annoying fumes of liquid solvent, potentially harmful to human health.
Furthermore, the pollution had also been perceived by the surrounding population; some people told investigators that they had complained of burning eyes and swelling of the respiratory tract.
