At the 2019 edition of Pizza Village, a tribute from chef pizzaiolo Salvatore Vesi, scheduled from September 13th to 22nd on the Naples waterfront, is almost obligatory. His special pizza is dedicated to Bud Spencer, the gentle giant who starred in so many extraordinary blockbuster films. Vesi's creation also aspires to be a tribute to the city of Naples, as it is based on the two basic colors of the city's coat of arms: yellow and red. Bud Spencer is a universally recognized symbol, who carried the flag of Naples around the world, and that's why the double cherry tomato, yellow and red, also representing the city's coat of arms, is also intended to be a tribute to those who have always carried the flag of Naples around the world. The ingredients are succulent: Agerola provola, yellow cherry tomatoes from Vesuvius, creamed pecorino romano, dried cherry tomato flakes, dried sweet chili pepper strings, Cilento extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil. The 2019 special pizza expresses the excellence of the local area and the goodness of the surrounding areas.
A creation that, like every year, is repeated at each edition of the event on the Caracciolo seafront, until it becomes an eagerly awaited event for the public, who arrive in ever greater numbers each time. This time, the culinary event will take place over two weekends. It will take place from September 13 to 22, and will be packed with free concerts. The live concerts will begin after Clementino, Arisa, Achille Lauro, The Kolors & Elodie, Edoardo Bennato and Cristiano Malgioglio, Dolcenera, continuing with Boomdabash on the 19th, Enrico Nigiotti and Bianca Aztei on the 20th, Mahmood on the 21st, Anastasio and Fred de Palma on the 22nd. Big among the big, the pizza dedicated to Bud will be, like every year, up to par, because Piedone never disappoints.
