Svetlana Kasyan is the winner of the “international” category of the twenty-fourth edition of the prestigious “Penisola Sorrentina Arturo Esposito” Award, promoted under the High Patronage of the European Parliament and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
His nomination will be officially announced during the national press conference to be held on October 9th at 11.00:XNUMX am at the Teatro Eliseo in Rome, directed by Luca Barbareschi.
Kasyan has been called “the new Callas” by music lovers. She is certainly one of the most successful young sopranos on the international opera scene. It is no coincidence that she is the first opera singer to have been awarded the title of “Dama di gran croce” of the Pontifical Order of San Silvestro by Pope Francis.
Georgian by birth and Russian by education, Kasyan displays acclaimed dramatic skills appreciated in Verdi and Puccini roles from the Bolshoi to Rome, Modena, Turin.
Her vocal and interpretative qualities allow her to tackle the most important soprano roles of the Italian, French, Russian and German repertoire, collaborating with the best conductors and directors and achieving great success with the public and critics everywhere.
This summer she was the protagonist of “Aida”, at the Arena di Verona Festival 2019 conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren.
She trained professionally at the Moscow State Conservatory and entered the Young Artists Program of the Bolshoi Theatre, where her long career began.
