The blitz was triggered on Friday morning when the agents of the Caserta Flying Squad arrested three people (KL, 48 years old, DR, 31 years old, AS, 32 years old) while two others were reported at large for receiving stolen goods (DT, 31 years old and DD, 26 years old).
The five were traveling in an Audi A4 when they were stopped by the Caserta Mobile agents who had received a report from their colleagues in Rome of a home burglary committed in the morning of Friday. At that point the blitz was launched: the car was searched as well as a home used by them in the Borghesiana neighborhood of Rome.
The five were found in possession of burglary tools, valuables (worth approximately €30.000) and money (€2.400 in cash), which were the result of the theft that had occurred shortly before in Palestrina. Having received the complaint from the victim of the theft, who recognized the stolen valuables and confirmed the lack of €2.400, as well as the testimony of a neighbor living in the place where the theft had occurred (who had seen the white Audi A4 drive away at high speed), the three were arrested, and the other two were reported at large.
In the possession of the criminals, all residents of a nomad camp in the Naples area, in addition to the white Audi A4, with stolen license plates, a blue BMW 1 Series was found inside the courtyard of the house in their use, which, from investigations carried out, had been used to commit apartment burglaries (between Caserta and Naples, above all) with improper use of the two-tone siren supplied to the police, which had been used to escape into traffic on other occasions in which the gang managed to escape from the police.
Both cars were seized. A house search also found a toy gun, probably also stolen, which was seized. The public prosecutor on duty at the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained from the investigating judge of the competent Court the validation of the arrest of the three individuals, for whom, given their numerous criminal and police records, their remaining in prison was also confirmed.
One of those reported, DD, ended up in prison anyway because he was the recipient of an order for the execution of a sentence of 3 years, 7 months and 14 days of imprisonment issued in June 2018 by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Naples.
