Thief driving stolen van chased by police tries to run the Gazelle off the road several times: arrested

Carabinieri pursued the vehicle last night along the coastal road between Battipaglia and Pontecagnano. Carabinieri from the Battipaglia branch, under the command of Major Vitantonio Sisto, arrested a 40-year-old convicted felon who was driving a van stolen a few days ago. As soon as the suspect noticed the Carabinieri pursuing him, he stepped on the accelerator to try to lose the officers and attempted to ram the Carabinieri van three times. The officers then prevailed, cut off the van, and arrested the suspect.
