Lavazza Launches Limited Edition Coffee for Havana

A special limited-edition coffee to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Havana: Lavazza presented “Tierra! La Habana” in Milan, an exclusive blend of 100% Cuban Arabica, with an intense flavor and Caribbean vibe, like the mojito with a coffee twist served at the launch event in the Milanese flagship store. This project, explained Pietro Mazzà, Head of Food Home Marketing at Lavazza, “is part of a broader project designed to support Cuba in reviving its coffee production last year. Cuba, one of the world's top coffee producers, suffered a significant decline in the 90s and early 2000s. Now, a revival is being sought, starting in the eastern part of the island. Lavazza began this work to support the local population in reviving production, to improve living conditions as well as coffee production. We are supporting them in this process to also obtain organic coffee certification. Quality coffee that is paid fairly.” Lavazza has also brought its over 120 years of expertise to the heart of the Cuban capital. In the Casa de la Amistad, the company has set up a temporary version of its Training Center for those working in the restaurant and retail sectors, and for all coffee enthusiasts. Here, Lavazza offers a special training program to the local population, sharing, through its over a century of experience, the processes and techniques of blending and roasting coffee, as well as the art of preparing a true Italian espresso, which sometimes remains a mirage for travelers around the world.
