Severe weather: A night of wind and lightning caused significant damage in the province of Caserta. On Via Vaticale in Casal di Principe, and near the stadium, strong winds toppled several trees, invading the road surface. The Marcianise fire department and a crane from Caserta were involved in clearing the brush, making the roads accessible again.
Also on Via Vaticale, near the Carabinieri station, an insulated roof blew down onto the street due to strong gusts of wind. Fortunately, no parked vehicles were hit. The Marcianise firefighters, with the support of a crane, are working to remove and secure the area. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the roof.
In Aversa, a centuries-old pine tree fell, most likely struck by lightning; others fell near the fruit and vegetable market. Problems were also reported near the parish of Santa Maria La Nova, with broken branches on the roadway.
