Naples. A delegation from the Brothers of Italy party, represented by councilor and municipal spokesperson Pasquale Strazzullo and Pietro Diodato, a longtime city and regional councilor, conducted an inspection of the Pianura cemetery following numerous complaints from residents. They found serious and worrying health and structural issues. Specifically, the two politicians explain, "We descended into the underground area managed by the religious congregation under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop's Curia of Pozzuoli, where we found the situation disturbing, to say the least. All the walls and the attic were crumbling and damaged by moss, mold, and water infiltration. The surface was completely flooded, not to mention the condition of the burial pits and niches, some of which were even shored up. The most concerning aspect," Strazzullo and Diodato continue, "is a pillar showing significant damage and signs of collapse. We will immediately forward the necessary reports to the relevant authorities to protect the safety of citizens, as well as requesting the documents to clarify the ownership and management, which are suspected to be unclear. If the answers are as we imagine, we will not hesitate to forward the matter to the Public Prosecutor's Office."
