Naples. An 82-year-old man died after being engulfed in flames in his home on Via Posillipo, Naples. The incident occurred yesterday morning but was only learned today. The man, who was in a wheelchair, lit a pipe while his Sri Lankan caregiver got out to go shopping. For reasons still unclear, perhaps caused by a spark, the man was engulfed in flames and fell to the floor. His son, who was sleeping in a room far from the scene of the accident, immediately called for help when he arrived. Firefighters and law enforcement officers arrived on the scene. An ambulance treated the elderly man, who later died in the hospital.
