Naples Film Festival: tomorrow, September 25, Campania preview of 'Tesnote'

A day full of screenings with over 20 works including competitions, previews and reviews scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 25 September at the Naples Film Festival, the event directed by Mario Violini that will continue until 1 October in various locations around the city.
The evening event of the Naples Film Festival will be dedicated to auteur cinema, with the Campania preview of “Tesnote”, a powerful debut by the young Russian director Kantemir Balagov, a student of Aleksandr Sokurov, awarded in Cannes in 2017 with the prestigious FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Press), in the “Un Certain Regard” section, and released last August in Italy. Applauded by critics and audiences, the film, inspired by a true story, deals with the ethnic conflict between Jews and Muslims in a small town in the Caucasus at the end of the 90s (21,15:86 p.m., Institut Francais, Via Francesco Crispi, 6,00 – single seat €XNUMX).
The screenings of the works in competition continue. For Europa Mediterraneo, the preview of “Danimarca” by the British author Adrian Shergold is scheduled (17,30:12 pm Institut Francais), a bittersweet comedy about the adventures of an unlucky and unemployed man who, while traveling in Europe, tries to get arrested to get a bed to sleep in. For Schermo Napoli, at the Cinema delle Palme, Via Vetriera, 16,30, the works of the shorts section, from 18,30:18,30 pm to 21:5,00 pm, including “RAM” by Michele Sorrentino Mangini, starring Angela Pagano, and “L'attesa” by Angela Bevilacqua with Lucianna De Falco, and of the doc section, from 4,00:XNUMX pm to XNUMX pm, with, among others, “Nimble fingers” by Parsifal Reparato, a young woman, migrated from the highlands of Northern Vietnam to the outskirts of Hanoi, dismantles the stereotype of women as perfect workers for the exploitation of industrial production. “Videoclip Sessions” is starting, the competition dedicated to the short audiovisual form that combines music and images, curated by the editorial staff of www.freakoutmagazine.it, a historic Italian music magazine coordinated by Giulio Di Donna. At Castel dell'Ovo (Via Eldorado, 3 – from 16 pm, free admission), first round of video clip screenings, also competing are “Una musica può fare” (Alchemaya version) by Francesco Cordio and music by Max Gazzè, and “Whiteblack” by Demetrio Salvi and music by Capone & Bungt Bangt, with works from Israel, Ecuador, Russia and many other countries.
For “Parole di Cinema”, the section dedicated to high school students organized in collaboration with Rita Esposito’s Mobydick, the Campania preview of “Ed è subito sera” by Claudio Insegno will be screened, the film about Dario Scherillo, an innocent victim of the Camorra in 2004. His brother Pasquale Scherillo, Don Tonino Palmese, Carmen del Core and Geppino Fiorenza will be present (10 am, Cinema Vittoria – Free admission).
There are also many screenings of the festivals. “Spazio agli autori” offers “Viaggio Lucano – II Parte: Il suono dell'acqua” by Nevio Casadio (17,30:1959 p.m., Instituto Cervantes. For “Autor de 19,30…la Nouvelle Vague” there will be a screening of “Ascensore per il scaffold” by Louis Malle (16:23 p.m., Institut Francais – free admission). For the retrospective “Percorsi d'Autore” dedicated to the director Silvio Siano it is the turn of “Saranno uomini”, with an introduction by Luciano Cuomo of Quaderni di Cinemasud (18,45:XNUMX p.m., Institut Francais – free admission). At the Instituto Cervantes, in Via Nazario Sauro, XNUMX, at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. (free admission), a screening of “Peret, io sono la rumba” by Paloma Zapata scheduled for the festival “Spain: opera prima”.
Two more events today at the Institut Francais (free admission). At 16 pm, a conference entitled “The challenge of the third sector for cultural organizations” by Marco D'Isanto (expert in the third sector, organizations and cultural institutions), with speakers Rosanna Romano (General Directorate for Cultural Policies and Tourism) and Professor Renato Briganti (Federico II University of Naples). At 19 pm, presentation of the book “I migliori film mai girati” by Emanuele Canzaniello, introduced by Giuseppe Merlino and Valeria Sperti, with readings by Alessio Sica.
