Malinconico, originally from Chiaia, was riding his powerful motorcycle when, shortly after the Portici-Ercolano toll booth heading toward Naples, he swerved on a curve and crashed violently into the guard rail. Despite wearing a protective helmet, the impact, to his head, was extremely violent and left him with no chance of survival.
